Death Over Simplicity aka DOS is a lyricist born and raised in Worcester, MA. Through music videos, cassette tapes, and the radios of older cousins, he became fascinated with rhymes and the artists who created them. By memorizing the rhymes of pioneers such as Nas, Big Pun, DMX, and the Wu-Tang Clan, he developed an ear for vocal rhythm, wordplay, and rhyme patterns. Given an opportunity to perform at the age of 13, DOS wrote his first original rhymes. Since then, he has used Hip-Hop music as a form of catharsis while honing the craft of writing by studying classic albums and reciting verses in rap ciphers. His moniker is a reminder to himself and others to never become complacent with your art, always leaving room for changes and expansion, which is evident by the range of production that can be heard in his music which is full of references to comic books, video games, novels and history. In 2023 DOS joined Genosha Records, a collective including frequent collaborator Ghost of the Machine & Weapon ESP who all share a love for Hip-Hop and the X-Men series of comics.
